Testing out the Cove-Lynskey 650B Ti Prototype

The new Pro29 from Lynskey has just come out via Cove bikes in North Vancouver, BC.  The Cove-Lynskey relationship has been a successful one with Cove's Hummer line of bikes over the last 5 years.  Cove has again turned to Lynskey to help with a possible new Hummer design in a full suspension 650B or 29'er variety.   Taking back users comments, Cove will tweak this model here and there and launch a Cove version of Pro29 - Hummer.  When I was offered the opportunity to test this bike on the Sunshine Coast, I jump at the chance to put it through the paces.  From when I first started riding and racing mountain bikes in mid 1990's, I've always wanted a titanium bike.  I've considered buying the Cove Hummer on many occasions.  I've been also lucky to try out other Cove bikes such as the Hummer Softail, Hustler, and now I own their new G-Spot All Mountain Rig. What does being over 40 really mean?

Okay I get it.  Being over 40 means that any exercise is not easy.  Let start with when it was easy.  When I was in grade 8 I ran a low 5 min mile. Running was easy.  When I was grade 11, I played for the Under 17 Vancouver Rugby team.  Rugby was easy.  I proved that in high school not many people where faster than me.  In my 20's, I think like many men that follow a career path, family, house and such; fitness took a back seat and the bricks of butter piled on me like someone stuffing them in a backpack while I was wearing it. Enter the 1/4 life crisis - I picked up mountain bike racing - I was 28 and in the Senior Sport class - It took me forever to eek out 10 points to advance from beginner because the young guys would show up and blow by me like I was standing still.  These guys made it look easy - and what I figured - they had no career yet, or a job at least so they could ride all day long and perfect their fitness to top me.  Thats w...

Manitoba is almost the same as Saskatchewan

My virtual tour across Canada leads me into Manitoba and I'm still in the prairies.  2135km from Horseshoe Bay and 89 hours in the saddle.  I'm just a little past Brandon, MB and obtained a little picture to remember it by.   Wiki says the following about the place:    Brandon  is a city in southwestern  Manitoba ,  Canada . The surrounding area is often referred to as " Westman ". The city started as a major junction on the  Canadian Pacific Railway , and the Assiniboine River  and was then incorporated in 1882. Brandon, the second largest city and service centre in Manitoba after  Winnipeg , is a major hub for the surrounding agricultural area. The population of its trading area is between 70,000 and 150,000 people, while the city has a population of over 46,000.
